DC mother who claims to have dumped infant son’s body in garbage has been fatally stabbed

A mother in Washington, D.C., who admitted to dumping her 2-month-old son’s body in the trash last year, was killed by the baby’s father.

Police say Ladonia Boggs, 39, was stabbed to death in her Washington, D.C. apartment on Wednesday.

Officers from the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Carl Jones, 44, the Metropolitan Police Department said. Press release Thursday.

Boggs died about a year after confessing to rolling over while lying in bed with his infant son.

In a video obtained by WRC-TVBoggs talks about how he discovered that his son had died.

“I remember the last thing I did was rolling, and he was on my chest. Then, when I was’ sleeping, rolling, I noticed he was unresponsive – breathing – and I panicked.”

Boggs said he dumped his son’s lifeless body in the trash.

NBC Washington Report Surveillance video shows Boggs taking a car seat, a plastic bag and a box to a dumpster in his apartment complex.

Authorities searched the local landfill for the baby’s body but did not find his body.

Prosecutors decided not to charge Boggs with murder and instead charged him with tampering with evidence.

He was awaiting trial on low charges when he died, according to the affidavit NBC Washington.
